CST 363 - Week 6

This week I primary focused on studying the diagram, and I gained a lot of knowledge.

Discussing with my friend, who has worked as back-end web developer for many years, I learned about my mistakes and how to organize the diagram, the tables and their relationships better. Moreover, looking over other classmates' diagram during the peer review gave me a better visualization as well. Combining both, this experience granted me not just knowledge, but confidence if I have to deal with database directly.

Another fascinating knowledge I learned this week is realizing the connection between database organization and my personal project. While working on my project, there are many times I have to think about keeping the code in one file or splitting in two. I have to consider between the future's expansions, the file's purpose and maintain capabilities. Of course, not all the time splitting is the choice, as the diagram and the relationships between files become complex. Or sometime, the splitting files are simply unnecessary.

With them in mind, I have a clear understanding of what I need to do with Entity Relationship Diagram. I feel very different when I started using ERD in my personal project for the first time.
