 Week 5 - Database

Week 5 introduces the use of database, which is one of my least favorite subjects. I don't hate the database itself, but the previous experience with database course where I had to use ridiculous SQL statements gave me negative impressions with MySQL. In fact, I barely remember the materials from that course.

No matter what, I had to deal with MySQL Database in this course, and it is also crucial for my Capstone Project's website. So, with Lab 05's tutorial, I started working step by step. Luckily, the database is not the main focus in this assignment. It is a tool to store and retrieve data, as it is supposed to be. The major material here is still the back-end development, which involves retrieving information from the database, a quote and its author in this Lab.

The lab was fun to be honest. From displaying the corresponding quotes to the information of the author, everything was satisfied. However, probably due to the fact that I focused my efforts into my Capstone Project's document, the Lab was not my primary assignment. As the result, I kept the decoration simple. In addition, I ended up forgetting to add author's full bio on display and lost some points on the assignment. However, that was not the end of my grade.

Plus, week 05 was also the beginning of the Final Project where I, together with my Cohort, develop a website, using all materials we have learned. We chose a Book Reviews website as our topic and start preparing for it. I really hope I can work with maximum on this important project.
